Unheard Voices: Spring 1992
DescriptionThe videos in this series embody the central mission of independent media to give voice to the voiceless. The first, videos from the 8th International Women's Day Video Festival continue a Deep Dish tradition of featuring women's video production on themes of women's lives that are seldom explored int he main stream media. The Festival is presented in four half hour programs. Each program is made up of several individually produced segments The entire festival presented here represents the work of dozens of women.
The second in the series gives voice to the Haitian people as they struggle against the continued oppression of U.S. and French imposed governments.
Forging Peace, the final video, continues Deep Dish TV's focus on Iraq and the efforts of the Iraqi people to survive under continued American war and sanctions.
